Flintridge's Philanthropy Resource Library is the only cooperating collection of the Foundation Center in the San Gabriel Valley. It contains in-depth material on foundations, corporations and government agencies that provide support for nonprofit organizations. Four computer workstations provide access to funding research software. The Library also has hundreds of books and periodicals on topics of interest to nonprofit organizations, including board development, board and staff roles, fundraising, volunteer development, accounting, taxes, human resources, insurance, and more. Scroll down to see some of the helpful resources in our collection. Program officers staff the Library and are available to answer questions and guide library use.

FC Search
The Foundation Center's database on CD-ROM offers comprehensive information on more than 80,000 foundations, corporate givers and grantmaking public charities, as well as their associated grants. Links are provided to grantmaker and corporate websites and to updated IRS 990 PF forms. Choose from 21 search criteria to quickly generate targeted lists of funding prospects. The Grants Search database gives access to more than 334,000 recently reported grant records.

Foundation Grants to Individuals Online
This online database features more than 6,200 foundation programs that fund students, artists, researchers, and other individual grantseekers. Information on scholarships, fellowships, grants, awards and other financial support.

In addition, training in Grantseeking Technology is offered regularly, which covers how to use the Internet and FC Search software to research and identify potential funders. Features over two dozen winning proposals and funder commentary on their strengths and weaknesses. Requests run the gamut—seed money, general/operating support, endowment, construction/renovation, single and multiyear grants. Plus, see samples of cover and inquiry letters and project budgets.

Shaking the Money Tree, by Morrie Warshawski
Practical advice for independent filmmakers on how to get grants and private donations. Includes a sample grant proposal (along with budget) that was funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities.
